Families of Sanghar Victims Continue Protest for Third Day, Demand Justice and FIR Against PPP MNA Alauddin Junejo

Sanghar — The families of the three victims killed in a violent attack by armed men in Sanghar's Manahil Junejo village continued their sit-in for a third consecutive day, demanding the registration of an FIR against PPP MNA Alauddin Junejo and other involved parties. The bodies of the deceased remain at the protest site as a symbol of their unwavering demand for justice.

The incident occurred near Chotariyon, where armed assailants from a cattle ranch carried out the fatal attack. Despite the protests, local police have not registered a case, leading to heightened tensions in the region. The families of the victims have stated that they will not bury the bodies until an FIR is filed against those responsible, including Alauddin Junejo, who they claim played a role in the attack.

A shutter-down strike was observed in Sanghar city, with businesses closed in solidarity with the victims' families. The protests have garnered support from leaders across political and social parties, including Sarwari Jamaat, Tehreek-e-Insaf, and nationalist parties. Protesters blocked roads and set tires on fire, demanding immediate action from the authorities.

In response to the ongoing sit-in, PPP MNA Shazia Atta Marri met with the protesters and listened to their grievances. She assured the families that their demands would be addressed and that a case would be registered in line with their wishes. However, SSP Sanghar pointed out that Alauddin Junejo was not present at the scene of the incident, which complicated the registration of the FIR. He assured the protesters that investigations were ongoing, with arrests made and weapons seized.

The families, however, remained firm in their demand, stating that they would not end the protest until justice was served. Shazia Marri pressed the authorities to expedite legal action to resolve the situation and allow the families to properly bury their loved ones.

Meanwhile, Sarwari Jamaat spiritual leader and PPP MNA Makhdoom Jamil-uz-Zaman arrived at the protest site, pledging support to the families and promising that an FIR would be filed soon. He criticized the delay in registering the FIR and stated that PPP leadership would take action to address the situation. "I will speak with Bilawal Bhutto if necessary," Makhdoom Jamil-uz-Zaman said, underscoring the importance of justice for the victims.

Pir Pagara, the spiritual leader of the Hurr Jamaat, also expressed solidarity with the families, stating that the murder of any human being is a loss to all humanity. He directed the Hurr Jamaat to provide support to the protesting families, ensuring they have the resources needed during the sit-in.

The families have warned that if their demand for justice continues to be ignored, the protest may spread throughout Sindh, calling on both the local administration and Sindh government to act swiftly and justly.
