POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially dissolved its negotiation committee formed to engage in talks with the government. The decision follows the party's dissatisfaction with the government's approach and alleged delay tactics during the negotiation process.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza, a member of the now-dissolved PTI negotiation committee, announced that the committee will be restructured as a coordination committee. Its primary focus will be to establish a grand alliance among opposition parties.
Government's "False Narrative" Exposed:
Speaking to the media, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said, “We presented our demands, including the formation of a judicial commission, but the government did not respond. If they were serious about negotiations, they would have acted.”
He emphasized that despite facing numerous hardships, PTI took the initiative to engage in talks. “The government delayed negotiations and created hurdles,” Gohar added, criticizing their approach.
No Contact Except with Army Chief:
The PTI Chairman further clarified, “We did not meet anyone except the Army Chief during this process.”
PTI leaders have accused the government of attempting to create a false narrative and failing to respond meaningfully to the party's demands.
As the political stalemate continues, the party has shifted its strategy towards strengthening opposition forces through a broader alliance.
