Federal Information Minister Announces Elections in 2029, Urges Political Dialogue in Parliament

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has declared that elections in Pakistan will be held in 2029, emphasizing the need for constructive political engagement in Parliament. His statement comes amidst calls from various quarters, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, for neutral elections free from interference.

Minister Tarar highlighted the government's economic achievements, attributing the historic highs in the stock exchange, increasing foreign exchange reserves, reduced trade deficit, and stabilized rupee value to its policies. He urged political leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to appreciate these initiatives and refrain from rhetoric.

"Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a senior and respected politician," Minister Tarar acknowledged. "He should focus on supporting government initiatives rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric."

In response to Maulana Fazlur Rehman's call for neutral elections, Minister Tarar stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue within Parliament to address political concerns. He noted the perceived lack of unity within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), urging the party to form a negotiation committee to streamline its communications.

"Maulana's suggestion for neutral elections deserves respect, yet our focus should be on ensuring transparency and fairness through parliamentary discussions," Minister Tarar remarked.

The announcement of the 2029 election timeline sets a benchmark amid ongoing political discussions and preparations within Pakistan's political landscape.
