Karachi has reported the first confirmed case of monkeypox in Sindh province, health department sources confirmed.

Patient Details & Diagnosis

The infected individual, a 28-year-old resident of Shah Latif Town, was admitted to Jinnah Hospital after showing symptoms. His samples were sent to Dow Hospital for testing, where laboratory results confirmed the presence of monkeypox.

Authorities revealed that the patient’s wife had a recent travel history abroad and initially showed symptoms of the disease. The patient contracted the infection afterward.

Health Measures & Precautions

The patient has been placed in an isolation ward, and strict precautionary measures have been implemented to prevent further spread.
