High-Value Target Killed Along with Nine Militants in Bajaur IBO: ISPR
In a significant intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, nine militants, including a high-value target, were killed, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday. Among the neutralized militants were two suicide bombers and the khariji ringleader, Said Muhammad alias Qureshi Ustad.
The operation, conducted on the night of October 23-24, successfully targeted the militants' hideout, with intense fire exchange leading to the elimination of the group. A large stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the militants, who had been involved in various terrorist attacks against both security forces and civilians.
The ISPR emphasized that security forces are continuing a sanitisation operation in the area to root out any remaining terrorists. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country, ensuring peace and stability.
This operation comes amid a rise in attacks targeting security personnel in Pakistan, particularly in KP and Balochistan, following the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) decision to end a ceasefire with the government in 2022.
