Imran Khan Urges KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur to Improve Governance, Address Corruption

Rawalpindi: The inside story of a recent meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has come to light. Sources indicate that Imran Khan instructed the CM to prioritize governance improvements and curb corruption in the province.

According to insiders, Imran Khan clarified that he stepped down as PTI president to focus on broader party matters, while Gandapur must take full charge of administrative affairs. “You are the chief executive of the province, improve governance. I have full support for you, and you have complete authority,” Imran Khan reportedly told the CM.

Corruption Complaints and CM’s Response

During the meeting, Imran Khan expressed concerns over reports of corruption and governance issues in KP. CM Gandapur responded that he had no role in postings and transfers, alleging that assembly members influence these decisions, which in turn leads to complaints against him.

Following the meeting, CM Gandapur held a follow-up discussion with the Special Assistant on Anti-Corruption, directing strict measures to eliminate corruption. He assured that those involved in malpractice would be held accountable.

Government’s Stance on Anti-Corruption Efforts

KP Information Advisor Barrister Saif, while speaking to Geo News, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating corruption. He stated:
🛑 “Corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
🔎 “Complaints will be investigated, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.”

The developments indicate a major shake-up in KP’s governance strategy, with a renewed emphasis on accountability and transparency.
