The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the statement issued by the G7 countries, calling it an interference in Iran’s internal affairs and asserting that there is undeniable evidence of Israel’s involvement in recent violence and terrorism within the country.
According to the ministry, peaceful protests in Iran were escalated into violence by Zionist-backed terrorist elements, with attacks on both protesters and security personnel occurring between January 8 and 10. Statements from American and Israeli officials were cited as clear evidence of incitement to violence.
The ministry emphasized that Iran respects the right to peaceful protest and is constitutionally bound to uphold civil rights. It stated that the Iranian government assumes full responsibility for citizen protection and maintaining peace and order, and that national security will be defended against terrorism orchestrated under foreign patronage.
Iran criticized the G7 for double standards under U.S. leadership regarding human rights, noting that these countries themselves have committed serious violations. The statement also accused the G7 of direct involvement with Israel in the genocide of the Palestinian people and said the bloc has no moral authority to lecture Iran on human rights.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry further demanded that the G7 cease illegal interference in Iran’s internal matters, lift all illegal sanctions, and refrain from using human rights as a political weapon. It stressed that encouraging violence and terrorism under the guise of human rights is unacceptable.
