Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has reiterated that Iran has never abandoned the negotiating table, emphasizing the country’s ongoing commitment to diplomacy despite the escalating conflict with Israel.
Speaking to European counterparts over the phone, Araqchi urged European nations to condemn Israel’s harsh aggression, highlighting the urgent need for international accountability in the current crisis.
According to Iranian state media, Araqchi explained that while Iran remains serious about diplomatic solutions, its immediate focus is on responding to Israeli military actions. “Iran did not start this war, nor is Iran interested in continuing the bloodshed,” he stated firmly.
The Foreign Minister also condemned the recent Israeli attack on an Iranian TV channel, calling it a reckless act that further escalates tensions. He added that if US President Donald Trump is genuinely serious about ending the conflict, then the next steps should lead to meaningful and productive dialogue.
Araqchi’s remarks come amid ongoing international efforts to de-escalate violence and push for peace in the volatile Middle East region, with Iran seeking broader support for its position against Israeli actions.
