POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) has strongly rejected the Mines and Minerals Bill passed by the Balochistan Assembly and has submitted an adjournment motion against the bill in the Senate. The move comes as the party distances itself from the controversial bill, which has sparked internal debate.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has sought an explanation from the party members who supported the bill in the Balochistan Assembly, accusing them of violating party policy. The party’s official stance is clear in its opposition to the bill, and the leadership is holding those who deviated from the policy accountable.
JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri stated that the party had taken immediate action following the passage of the bill, emphasizing that the decision by some members of the Balochistan Assembly to support the bill was in direct conflict with the party’s established policy. He further announced that the provincial party had been instructed to conduct an investigation and submit a report to the central leadership as soon as possible.
This development adds to the growing political tension in Balochistan, where various parties have shown differing views on the controversial legislation.
