Khawaja Asif: Pakistan Ready for War, May Bid Farewell to IMF

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan is ready for another confrontation with India and may achieve economic independence from the IMF within six months, citing the growing demand for Pakistani ships following the 2025 Indo-Pak war.

Speaking on Geo News’ Capital Talk, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan’s response in the 2025 war demonstrated the country’s military strength, claiming that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credibility was damaged both domestically and internationally.

“We are receiving so many orders for our ships that we will be in a position to say goodbye to the IMF in six months,” he stated.

The minister added that during the conflict, India had sought assistance from both the United States and China, but Pakistan’s military response destroyed Indian confidence. Khawaja Asif also reiterated that the world respects the iron fist of the Pakistani army.

On regional security, Khawaja Asif warned that the Afghan Taliban and TTP are not trustworthy, claiming they are aligned with India, and alleged corruption within the KP government in dealings with the TTP.

He further commented on global geopolitics, questioning US and Israeli intentions in the Middle East and criticizing what he described as false justifications for military actions against Iran, Ukraine, and Venezuela. He also touched on the Taiwan issue, saying attempts to restrict China’s influence there would destabilize international norms.
