North Korea has successfully tested a cruise missile from a newly commissioned warship off its west coast, state media reported, in a move closely monitored by Kim Jong-un.
According to official reports, the missile test was personally supervised by Kim Jong-un, who emphasized that the exercise demonstrates North Korea’s nuclear capabilities and its strong resolve to defend its sovereignty.
Statement on Iran Conflict
North Korea expressed strong concern over the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran, condemning attacks that target a country’s political system and territorial sovereignty. The North’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that the world should collectively oppose US and Israeli actions, warning that such interventions could threaten regional peace and stability.
Kim Jong-un also reiterated that North Korea will continue “continuous steps to strengthen its defenses”, positioning the missile test as both a demonstration of military capability and a political message amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Analysts note that North Korea’s missile tests are part of its broader strategy of signaling deterrence while aligning diplomatically with nations opposing US-Israel military actions in the region.
