Pakistan Army Slams Indian Allegations Over Pahalgam, Denies Any Cross-Border Strikes

Pakistan Army's spokesperson, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has strongly rejected Indian allegations linking Pakistan to drone or airstrikes following the Pahalgam incident, calling the claims baseless, politically motivated, and devoid of any credible evidence.

Speaking to Turkish media, Lt Gen Chaudhry asserted that India is deliberately targeting Pakistani civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) through unprovoked firing and shelling. He clarified that the Pakistan Army has only responded to those Indian military posts directly involved in attacking civilian populations, using only small arms in retaliation.

“Pakistan has not carried out any drone, rocket, or airstrike,” he said. “In the modern era of warfare, every such attack leaves electronic footprints. If Pakistan had used missiles or drones, there would be verifiable electronic evidence—none of which India has provided.”

The army spokesperson criticized India’s media narrative, stating that “fake stories” are being manufactured on an hourly basis while the international press remains largely blocked from independent verification in Indian-administered Kashmir.

He challenged India's claim of shooting down Pakistani aircraft. “If India downed our planes, where is the wreckage? Where are the pilots? These are fabrications designed to mislead their public and distract from their aggression.”

Lt Gen Chaudhry also condemned India's refusal to accept Pakistan’s offer of an impartial and transparent international investigation into the Pahalgam incident, accusing New Delhi of exploiting terrorist incidents for domestic political purposes.

“India is using these incidents as pretexts to justify its aggression,” he said. “But it cannot be allowed to act as judge, jury, and punisher. This is not how international law or responsible diplomacy works.”

He further accused Indian forces of attacking civilian infrastructure and places of worship at six different locations inside Pakistan, targeting women, children, and the elderly without presenting a shred of evidence to the international community.

Pakistan has strongly denied all allegations, stating that India has failed to provide any verifiable proof to support its claims regarding the Pahalgam incident or any supposed cross-border military operations.

As tensions continue to rise, Pakistan reiterates its call for de-escalation through dialogue and independent investigation, while reaffirming its right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens.
