Pakistan Condemns India’s Alleged Assassinations on Foreign Soil, Emphasizes Desire for Peaceful Relations

In response to recent reports by The Washington Post and The Guardian, Pakistan has strongly condemned India's alleged campaign of targeted killings on foreign soil. According to these reports, India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has been involved in carrying out assassinations in Pakistan since 2021. These killings, claimed to be part of a broader strategy to eliminate perceived terrorists, have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 20 individuals in Pakistan.

At a weekly briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch denounced these actions, emphasizing the growing concerns over India's extraterritorial activities. She noted that the campaign of killings and abductions has extended beyond Pakistan’s borders and raised alarm in various countries worldwide.

"India’s actions are a violation of international norms and have far-reaching implications for regional and global security," Baloch stated, reaffirming Pakistan's strong stance against such extraterritorial violence. The spokesperson emphasized that these operations are a serious matter, and Pakistan is committed to defending its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens.

Addressing concerns over national security, Baloch reiterated that Pakistan is fully equipped to protect its sovereignty from both internal and external threats. Pakistan has a robust defense mechanism and maintains vigilance in the face of potential security challenges.

In addition to security concerns, Baloch also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining peaceful and cooperative relations with its neighboring countries, particularly Afghanistan. She clarified that Pakistan has a strong dialogue framework in place with Afghanistan to address bilateral issues, including security and border management.

Furthermore, responding to questions about the strategic development of Gwadar port, Baloch reiterated that the port is developed with China’s support for Pakistan's economic growth and is not intended to serve as a military base for foreign powers. She emphasized that Gwadar is a vital project for Pakistan’s development, aimed at enhancing trade and regional connectivity.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office remains resolute in its position to seek peaceful solutions to regional disputes while defending its national interests and sovereignty in the face of external threats.
