Pakistan Warns of India’s Dangerous Naval Expansion at UN Security Council

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, has expressed serious concerns over India’s growing naval ambitions during a recent Security Council debate. He warned that India’s efforts to assert unlimited territorial dominance through naval expansionism pose a significant threat to regional stability.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar highlighted that India is excluding neighboring countries from key maritime security frameworks, specifically pointing to the Indian Ocean Rim Association, undermining collaborative efforts for regional security.

Furthermore, he criticized India’s alleged use of rivers as strategic tools, describing it as a clear violation of existing agreements between the countries.

The Pakistani envoy’s remarks underscore increasing tensions over maritime security and water resource management in South Asia, calling for greater international attention to India’s regional policies.
