TRADE & ECONOMY
Citizens in Pakistan can expect a reduction in petroleum prices for the next 15 days starting December 1, 2025, government and industry sources have indicated. The decrease is expected to provide some relief to motorists and transporters amid ongoing inflationary pressures.
The expected reduction has been attributed to a rise in global oil supply, following the restoration of several units at Kuwait’s Al-Zour Refinery, one of the largest refining complexes in the Gulf region.
Expected Price Changes
Based on preliminary calculations from 13 days of market data:
· Petrol: Likely to decrease by Rs 3.70 per liter, bringing the price down from Rs 265.45 to Rs 261.75 per liter.
· High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Expected to drop by Rs 4.28 per liter, reducing the price from Rs 284.44 to Rs 280.16 per liter.
· Kerosene: Minor decrease of Rs 0.73 per liter, from Rs 194.34 to Rs 193.61 per liter.
· Light Diesel Oil (LDO): The largest reduction of Rs 6.35 per liter, lowering the price from Rs 170.80 to Rs 164.45 per liter.
Industry experts say the temporary relief is tied directly to increased crude supply and refined oil output from Kuwait, which has eased international market pressures.
The government and petroleum sector are closely monitoring global oil trends, and similar adjustments may be announced in the coming weeks depending on international prices.
