Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a recent address to the federal cabinet, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the complete eradication of terrorism, stating that the nation’s prosperity is intricately linked to its success in combating terror.

Focus on Eliminating Terrorism for National Progress

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s development and economic growth hinge on the elimination of terrorism. Referring to the recent sacrifice of Lieutenant Hassan Ashraf, who was martyred while fighting terrorists, Shahbaz Sharif said such sacrifices were crucial to establishing peace and pushing the nation toward development.

"Complete eradication of terrorism is our mission, and Pakistan’s prosperity is directly linked to it," he said. He further highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the country's brave forces, who are working tirelessly to ensure peace and stability.

Strengthening Economic Ties

The Prime Minister also highlighted the growing economic confidence within the country. According to a recent Gallup survey, 55% of Pakistanis expressed confidence in the country’s business environment. He referred to the positive feedback from the World Bank, with the bank’s delegation praising Pakistan’s economic growth and reform agenda.

While acknowledging the progress, PM Shahbaz Sharif stressed that more effort and collaboration would be needed to further propel Pakistan’s economic growth. He shared his optimism about the nation’s future, stating that the government’s "Udan Pakistan" initiative and homegrown agenda would pave the way for accelerated economic development.

Inauguration of Recep Tayyip Erdogan Interchange

In a significant step toward improving infrastructure in Islamabad, PM Shahbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Interchange for traffic. The Prime Minister expressed pride in the completion of the project, which will enhance traffic flow in the twin cities and provide a better travel experience for citizens.

The interchange, which includes a flyover, U-turns, and upgraded roads, has been completed in a record time of 84 days, well ahead of its original 180-day timeline. The project, which cost less than initially allocated, is expected to benefit 70,000 vehicles daily, providing improved connectivity to key areas such as Sector G-8, G-9, Kashmir Highway, and Centaurus Mall.

Acknowledging Contributions

PM Shahbaz Sharif commended the Interior Minister, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and other officials for their swift execution of the project. He also praised the low-cost completion of the interchange, highlighting it as a symbol of effective governance and efficient use of resources.

The Prime Minister concluded by mentioning his intention to send photos and videos of the inauguration to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a token of appreciation for the strong ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
