The tenth meeting of the Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was held at the Prime Minister House today. The meeting saw active participation from key federal and provincial leaders, who collectively expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing investment initiatives.
Prominent attendees included Federal Information Minister, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Energy Minister Owais Leghari, and chief ministers from all four provinces: Ali Amin Gandapur (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Maryam Nawaz (Punjab), Murad Ali Shah (Sindh), and Sarfraz Bugti (Balochistan). Chief secretaries from the respective provinces were also present.
During the meeting, the chief ministers voiced their approval of the investment efforts spearheaded by SIFC. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of provincial collaboration and highlighted the UAE's commitment of $10 billion for investment in Pakistan, marking a significant breakthrough in economic relations.
"The provincial governments are united under the SIFC's vision. The UAE's $10 billion investment is a testament to our successful efforts in revitalizing trade and economic cooperation," stated PM Sharif. He also praised the military leadership for their pivotal role in fostering foreign investment and stressed that bureaucratic hurdles hindering foreign investments would not be tolerated.
The participants reviewed and expressed satisfaction with the implementation of decisions from previous Apex Committee meetings, underscoring the collective progress and the importance of maintaining momentum in these initiatives.
