Police Detain Family Members in Investigation of Lyari Quadruple Murder

The investigation into the shocking discovery of four strangled bodies in a flat in Karachi's Lyari Le Market area continues, with police detaining the head of the household, Farooq, and his two sons for further questioning. The bodies of four women, all belonging to the same family, were found in a seventh-floor flat, prompting a citywide outcry over the gruesome incident.

 

The victims were identified as Farooq’s wife, daughter, granddaughter, and daughter-in-law. According to Farooq, the head of the house, he had left the flat to drop off his daughter and, upon returning, found the door locked from the inside. After unlocking the door himself, he made the tragic discovery.

 

Child Found Alive, Injuries Raise Suspicions

 

In a surprising development, a three-month-old baby was found unharmed under a bed at the crime scene. The police also noted a cut on the hand of Bilal, one of Farooq's sons, raising suspicions about his involvement. Forensic experts have taken knives found at the scene for analysis, as they suspect that the weapon used in the murders may have been washed in an attempt to erase evidence.

 

“Even if the knife has been washed multiple times, we will determine if it was used in the murders through advanced forensic techniques,” said a police spokesperson. The forensic results will be crucial in identifying the murder weapon.

 

Post-Mortems Reveal Details of Death

 

Dr. Samia, the police surgeon in Karachi, conducted post-mortem examinations on the four victims. According to her findings, all four women died due to injuries and cuts to their throats. Samples collected during the post-mortem will be sent for chemical analysis and DNA testing to further assist the investigation.

 

The police are now focusing on piecing together the sequence of events that led to the murders. Investigators are considering multiple angles, including possible family disputes, as they attempt to uncover the motive behind the killings.
