PTI Decides to Form Sunni Alliance Council for Strong Opposition in National and Provincial Assemblies
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a significant step by forming the Sunni Alliance Council to lead a united opposition in the National and Provincial Assemblies, including the Centre and Punjab.
According to details, a committee session was held under the chairmanship of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, during which the leadership announced a shift in its previous strategy.
Barrister Gohar stated that instead of resorting to boycotts or resignations, the party will pursue constitutional and legal parliamentary politics. He emphasized that PTI aims to provide refuge in parliamentary politics to the Sunni Alliance Council, which has been supportive of the opposition.
Furthermore, the PTI leadership discouraged Shahbaz Sharif and Ali Zafar from indulging in rhetoric against the Sunni Alliance Council, emphasizing the importance of adherence to constitutional and legal politics.
"We will engage in constitutional and legal politics, fulfill our role as opposition, hold the government accountable, work for the welfare of the people, and participate fully in parliamentary politics. We will neither boycott nor resign," he added.
Chief Whip of the Sunni Alliance Council, Amir Dogar, affirmed that there is no discord within any party, and all members will unite to play a robust opposition role in the National and Provincial Assemblies, ensuring effective representation across all four provinces.
