POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued fresh procedures and guidelines for the reorganization of its party structure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), emphasizing loyalty and continued activity during the party’s challenging times.
According to an official statement, PTI will prioritize those workers who remained active following the May 9 incidents and throughout the 2024 general election campaign, particularly in forming new district-level and lower-tier organizations.
The guidelines explicitly exclude party workers who remained inactive during the post-May 9 crackdown or currently hold government positions. The decision appears to be aimed at revitalizing the party with dedicated and proven loyalists amid a politically turbulent environment.
Under the new framework, regional presidents and general secretaries will form organizational panels at the district level. The leadership has been directed to avoid appointing inactive, incompetent, or controversial figures.
Reorganization Timeline:
- Regional Officials: To be appointed by April 29
- District Officials: To be finalized by May 9
- Tehsil Officials: To be appointed by May 23
Only the provincial president of PTI will have the authority to give final approval for any new organizational body within the province.
The restructuring move comes as part of PTI’s efforts to solidify its internal structure and reconnect with its grassroots following a year of political setbacks and intensified scrutiny.
This reorganization drive is expected to shape the party’s future in KP, a province traditionally considered a PTI stronghold.
