PTI KP President Junaid Akbar Announces Exit from Parliamentary Roles

PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar announced that he is leaving his parliamentary roles in protest over limited speaking opportunities in the National Assembly.

In a message sent to the PTI parliamentary party’s WhatsApp group, Akbar stated that, effective immediately, he would no longer participate in any parliamentary committee, accept the position of parliamentary leader, or acknowledge the Chief Whip.

Akbar expressed frustration that he had only been able to speak on the Assembly floor after last Ramadan and during the budget session. He criticized the system in which a few members are allowed to speak on every issue daily, asking rhetorically, “Who is the Chief Whip who will make decisions every day?”

He added that his efforts and direct style are being misunderstood, and described some colleagues as courtiers who resist his outspoken approach.

Akbar said he would formally write to the Speaker of the National Assembly to request a separate seat from PTI. No response has yet been received from the party leadership.
