PTI Launches New Protest Strategy After Denial of Minar-e-Pakistan Rally Permit

In response to being denied permission to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a revised strategy aimed at intensifying its grassroots mobilization and public outreach efforts.

According to Chief Organizer of PTI Punjab, Alia Hamza Malik, the party will now conduct a province-wide protest rally on April 10, beginning at 1 PM from GPO Chowk in Lahore and marching towards the Punjab Assembly. The demonstration will protest what the party terms the “illegal imprisonment” of PTI’s founding leader.

Addressing the media, Alia Hamza said that the founder of PTI has been behind bars for nearly two years in what she described as “baseless and politically motivated cases.” She claimed that the continued denial of justice through the judicial system leaves the public with no option but to take to the streets.

"The government is so terrified of PTI’s popularity that they not only block our rallies but are also afraid of even the image of our leader," she stated. In light of this, she announced that PTI would expand its political activities to every union council, holding corner meetings, rallies, and community-level mobilizations.

The PTI leadership has declared that it will utilize every platform — from physical gatherings to digital campaigns — to raise awareness about the party’s cause and to keep the public informed about what they call the ongoing political injustice.

This renewed approach signals a strategic shift from large centralized gatherings to a more decentralized, widespread campaign, aiming to keep the momentum of public support alive despite mounting restrictions.

As April 10 approaches, all eyes will be on how authorities respond to this protest plan and whether the PTI’s union council-level mobilization strategy gains significant traction.
