PTI Reconstitutes Political Committee with Leaders from Across Pakistan, AJK, and GB

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reconstituted its political committee, incorporating prominent leaders from the central government, all four provinces, as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The new committee will serve as PTI’s highest decision-making body, responsible for formulating policy and guiding the party’s parliamentary strategy.

The notification appoints 23 key leaders to the committee, with Secretary General Salman Akram Raja tasked to form and manage its operations. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar is also a member of the committee.

Other prominent members include:

  • Firdous Shamim Naqvi
  • Sheikh Waqas Akram
  • Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi
  • Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas
  • National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai
  • Former opposition leaders Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Punjab Assembly opposition leader Moin Qureshi

The committee also includes representatives from Punjab, overseas chapters, and regional leadership:

  • Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar (Punjab)
  • Sajjad Barki (Overseas Chapter Secretary)
  • Zaalia Hamza (Chief Organizer Punjab)
  • Junaid Akbar, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Dawood Kakar

Regional representation from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is provided by Khalid Khurshid and Sardar Qayyum Niazi respectively.

Additionally, the committee includes key parliamentary and party functionaries:

  • Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser
  • National Assembly Chief Whip Aamir Dogar
  • Senate Coordinator Fawzia Arshad
  • Women Wing President Kanwal Shozab
  • Minority Wing President Lal Chand Malhi

According to the notification, the reconstituted political committee will be tasked with policy-making, strategy formulation, and guiding the parliamentary parties of PTI across the country.

The move is seen as part of PTI’s broader effort to consolidate its leadership structure and streamline decision-making ahead of upcoming political challenges.
