PTI’s Sheikh Waqas Seeks Meeting with Imran Khan to Advance Talks

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram emphasized the crucial role of party founder Imran Khan in the ongoing negotiations, stressing that no progress could be made without his direct involvement. Waqas made these remarks after the second meeting of the negotiation committees, where it was made clear that a meeting with Imran Khan is essential to take the next steps in the discussions.

According to Waqas, the PTI negotiation committee is at an impasse, unable to proceed with further talks unless they receive clear instructions from Imran Khan himself. He warned that if the PTI founder is not met soon, there will be no need for a third meeting, as the party leadership believes the talks cannot move forward without Imran Khan’s guidance.

"The second meeting of the committees highlighted the importance of meeting with the founder of PTI. Without this crucial step, there is no point in continuing with the process," Sheikh Waqas said in his statement. He also expressed frustration over the lack of response from the Speaker’s Office despite repeated attempts to arrange a meeting with Imran Khan.

“We have made numerous attempts to contact the Speaker’s Office, but we are not getting a positive response. This delay is telling us all we need to know about the government's position on this matter,” Waqas added. He reiterated that it is the fundamental right of PTI leaders to meet with their founder, especially after three months of being denied access.

The PTI leadership has been insistent that a meeting with Imran Khan is essential not only to provide direction but also to address critical party matters. As the political climate continues to evolve, Sheikh Waqas and other PTI members are pushing the government to facilitate this meeting, which they believe is vital for the future of the negotiations.

With tensions running high, PTI continues to call for a more constructive and transparent approach from the Speaker’s Office and government officials in the hope that the political deadlock can be resolved soon.
