Rawalpindi ATC Releases Aleema Khan on Bail in November 26 Protest Case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted bail to Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in connection with the November 26 protest case. The decision came after the court took her into temporary custody during the hearing on Wednesday.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the case, which involves Aleema Khan and 11 others. During the proceedings, Aleema requested that her lawyer be allowed to leave temporarily due to prior commitments at the Supreme Court. The prosecutor, Zaheer Shah, noted that Aleema was in judicial custody under Section 351 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Female police officers escorted Aleema Khan into the courtroom as she complied with the court’s instructions not to leave the premises. Her lawyer, Faisal Malik, was also present during the hearing.

To secure her release, Aleema submitted two surety bonds of Rs 1 million each, after which the court allowed her to leave. The ATC adjourned the next hearing until December 1, following a request from the defense.

It is worth noting that Aleema Khan has faced multiple arrest warrants in connection with the November 26 protest case.
