POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja on Tuesday said the notification of the opposition leader was not a favor to anyone but a constitutional obligation.
Addressing the media at Adiala Road Factory Naka, Raja criticized the handling of the Karachi Gul Plaza tragedy, calling it the result of “corruption and callousness.” He affirmed that the matter would be pursued at all levels to ensure accountability.
He further condemned restrictions on meeting the PTI founder, calling such actions a violation of the law. Raja highlighted the historic speeches of Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas, quoting Achakzai as saying, “If you work according to the constitution, I will kiss your hands.”
Raja emphasized that PTI does not intend any aggression or violence, insisting their demand remains firmly rooted in constitution, law, and decency. Regarding the Karachi fire, he said the lack of a fire exit in the building reflected criminal negligence, and the party would raise the incident in every relevant forum.
