Moan, South Korea: A tragic plane crash at Moan Airport in South Korea has resulted in the deaths of 179 people, with only two survivors. The flight, which was returning from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while attempting to land at one of South Korea's busiest airports.
The aircraft, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members, skidded off the runway due to a malfunction in its landing gear. According to authorities, the plane hit a wall before exploding. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control, but most casualties occurred when passengers attempted to jump from the aircraft before the crash, according to fire agency reports.
In a preliminary investigation, malfunctioning landing gear has been identified as the likely cause of the crash. South Korean authorities also revealed that the control tower had warned of a possible bird strike shortly before the crash occurred.
The two survivors, who have been rescued from the wreckage, are currently in critical condition. Authorities have launched a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
The tragic loss has not only shaken South Korea but has drawn condolences from around the world. Pakistani leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, have expressed their heartfelt sorrow. Prime Minister Sharif stated, "We stand with the government and people of South Korea in this hour of grief."
