LEGAL
YouTuber Adil Raja has formally admitted to defaming Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer following a ruling by the London High Court. The court also issued two stern warnings to Raja, stating that failure to comply with its orders could constitute contempt of court, potentially resulting in fines, imprisonment, or asset confiscation.
Raja published a summary of the court decision across all his social media platforms, acknowledging that there is “no defence to the allegations against Rashid Naseer.” The court ordered that his public apology must remain visible on his social media accounts and website for 28 days.
Court-Ordered Penalties
The London High Court had earlier ruled in favour of Brigadier (retd) Naseer in October 2025, after Raja had accused him of corruption, election rigging, and blackmail. The court ordered Raja to pay:
· £50,000 in damages to Brigadier (retd) Naseer
· £260,000 to cover initial court costs
Additionally, the court barred Adil Raja from publishing any statements relating to Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer, his employees, agents, or their identities in the future.
Warnings and Compliance
The judge emphasized that non-compliance with the court order would be treated as a serious contempt of court, with legal consequences including fines, imprisonment, or confiscation of Raja’s assets. The decision underscores the strict stance of UK courts on defamation and misinformation, particularly in the digital space.
