Afghan Terrorist Killed in Datta Khel Operation

A terrorist killed in a recent operation in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan has been identified as an Afghan citizen, further highlighting concerns about the involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorist activities within Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the slain terrorist, Luqman Khan alias Nusrat, was a resident of the Spira district in Afghanistan’s Khost province. Luqman was killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistani security forces on February 6.

The ISPR stated that contact had been established with the Afghan interim government to hand over the body of the terrorist.

"The Afghan government should prevent the use of its territory against Pakistan. We expect the Afghan interim government to fulfill its responsibilities," said the ISPR spokesperson.

This incident adds to mounting evidence of Afghan nationals' involvement in cross-border terrorist activities. Pakistani authorities have reiterated their concerns, urging the Afghan leadership to take decisive action against elements using Afghan soil for destabilizing Pakistan.

It is worth noting that just a few days earlier, the son of a deputy governor from an Afghan province was also killed during an encounter with Pakistani security forces.

Pakistan continues its commitment to counter-terrorism operations and calls for regional cooperation to ensure peace and stability.
