Army Vows to Safeguard Hard-Earned Gains Against Terrorism Amid Surge in Balochistan Attacks

The military’s top brass, led by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, has reaffirmed its commitment to defending Pakistan’s hard-won successes against terrorism.

 

During a Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters, the army leadership reviewed the current national security challenges, particularly focusing on the escalating violence in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The forum expressed deep concern over the increasing frequency and severity of attacks, particularly those orchestrated by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

 

The meeting comes after a week of deadly assaults across Balochistan, where militants targeted security forces and civilians alike. These attacks have claimed at least 50 lives, including 14 security personnel, and have left dozens more injured. The BLA, which has escalated its operations, carried out coordinated assaults across several districts, including the tragic incident in Musakhail where 23 laborers were brutally executed.

 

General Munir emphasized the military’s unwavering dedication to neutralizing these threats, with comprehensive support for government and law enforcement agencies. The army chief also highlighted the importance of a robust legal system to effectively counter the growing menace.

 

The conference participants paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the pursuit of peace and stability. They also stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability within the military, ensuring that no one is above the law.

 

In addition to addressing internal security challenges, the military leadership expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and condemned the ongoing violence against Palestinians.

 

As Pakistan faces a rise in terrorist incidents, with 59 attacks reported in August alone, the military's top brass has vowed to continue its relentless pursuit of peace and stability in the region.
