Gen Asim Munir: Digital Terrorism and Fifth Generation Warfare More Dangerous Than Traditional Threats

Army Chief General Asim Munir, in his message on Pakistan Defense Day, has warned that digital terrorism and fifth-generation warfare are more complex and dangerous than traditional terrorism. He emphasized that as long as the nation remains united, no force in the world can harm Pakistan.

Speaking on the significance of September 6, a day that marks the defense of Pakistan's borders, Gen Munir highlighted the courage and bravery displayed by the country's forces during the 1965 war. "The spirit of national unity shown during the September war is a source of pride for us," he said, adding that it serves as a guiding torch for future generations.

He paid tribute to the martyrs and their families, noting that the protection and sanctity of their sacrifices is a top priority for the armed forces. "Faith, piety, and jihad in the way of Allah are our greatest weapons to face the enemy," Gen Munir said.

The army chief praised the forces for successfully controlling the menace of terrorism, ensuring the safety and stability of Pakistan. However, he pointed out that new challenges are emerging in the form of digital terrorism and fifth-generation warfare, which are more dangerous and intricate due to the involvement of anti-national elements and foreign organizations.

"Unlike traditional terrorism, digital terrorism is complex, and cooperation with foreign organizations makes it even more challenging," he explained.

Gen Munir urged the nation to remain determined and united for the security and prosperity of the country. He called on Pakistanis to set aside their differences and display unity. "As long as we remain united, no power in the world can harm Pakistan," he concluded.
