Asma Jahangir Group Leads in Punjab Bar Council Elections, Wins 8 of 11 Seats

In the recently held Pakistan Bar Council elections, unofficial results from 10 out of 11 seats in Punjab indicate a strong victory for the Asma Jahangir Group, securing 8 seats, according to Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar.

Candidates from the Hamid Khan Group won 2 seats, with Salman Akram Raja and Shafqat Chohan emerging as members of the Pakistan Bar Council.

Elected representatives from the Asma Jahangir Group include Azam Nazir Tarar, Ahsan Bhawan, Pir Masood Chishti, Aamir Saeed Raan, Tahir Nasirullah Warraich, Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhry, Saqib Akram Gondal, and Syed Qalb Hassan.

The final results for all candidates are expected to be officially announced on December 22, confirming the new composition of the Pakistan Bar Council in Punjab.

The elections are widely regarded as a reflection of the legal community’s confidence in leadership and representation, highlighting the continuing influence of both the Asma Jahangir and Hamid Khan groups in Pakistan’s legal circles.
