ATC Issues Seventh Non-Bailable Warrant for Aleema Khan in Protest Case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has once again issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan — the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan — marking the seventh time such a warrant has been issued against her in the November 26 protest case.

The court resumed the hearing of the case involving 11 accused, including Aleema Khan, on Monday. However, Aleema and her legal team were absent from the proceedings. Due to her continued non-appearance, the ATC reissued non-bailable warrants and ordered her arrest.

A report concerning the freezing of Aleema Khan’s bank accounts was also presented before the court. According to the report, several accounts under Aleema Khan’s name are linked to welfare institutions, including Namal University.

The court further directed banks that had not yet submitted their reports to comply with its earlier notices immediately.

Following the hearing, the court adjourned proceedings until November 6, reiterating that the warrants remain in effect until Aleema Khan appears before the court.

The case, registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, pertains to alleged unlawful gatherings and protests held on November 26, for which 11 individuals, including Aleema Khan, face terrorism-related charges.

Legal observers note that repeated non-bailable warrants indicate the court’s increasing frustration over the accused’s absence and could lead to escalated enforcement measures if compliance continues to be delayed.
