POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday said that Pakistan’s performance in the recent conflict with India had strengthened the country’s global standing, claiming that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was now “hiding his face from the world”.
Addressing a ceremony in Muzaffarabad, Bilawal told the gathering that leadership failures compel the public to struggle on their own. He added that during recent protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), newly elected AJK Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore had closely observed and stood with the people.
“Now your representative in Muzaffarabad is Faisal Rathore,” Bilawal said. “The promises he made to the people are your trust with me. We will not run the government of Azad Kashmir by sitting in closed rooms.”
‘Imran Khan Got Power After PPP’s Mandate Was Stolen’
Bilawal criticised former prime minister Imran Khan, saying, “Imran Khan was given power by robbing the mandate of the PPP.” He recalled campaigning personally in previous AJK elections and praised the political awareness of the region’s people.
“There is no place like Kashmir where there is as much political consciousness,” he said.
‘Pakistan’s Standard Is High, Modi on the Back Foot’
Repeating his earlier claims from recent speeches, Bilawal said Pakistan’s performance in the recent military confrontation with India was evident internationally.
“After the war with India, Pakistan’s standard is in front of everyone. Modi is hiding his face from the world,” he stated. He added that global powers, including the United States, would remind New Delhi of the alleged loss of “seven aircraft” during the confrontation.
He further claimed that India was avoiding international forums after being “exposed”.
‘India Cannot Break the Bond Between Pakistan and Kashmir’
Bilawal accused the Modi government of trying to damage the longstanding bond between Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.
“I want to tell the Modi government: you have lost wars, and now you will also lose your conspiracies. India is harming the brotherhood of Pakistan and Kashmir, but it will fail.”
The PPP chairman vowed that the new AJK government under Rathore would work directly with the people and strengthen the region’s political voice.
