Shahzad Iqbal Defends Shahzeb Khanzada Amid Allegations by Shahbaz Gul

Senior journalist and anchorperson Shahzad Iqbal responded to allegations made by Shahbaz Gul, a former special assistant during the Imran Khan government, regarding the handling of Bushra Bibi’s iddat case.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Shahzad Iqbal clarified his position, stating that his original post was meant to share a video and not to comment on Gul’s points.

“I agree with both of your points, Gul Sahib. One is that I posted this to share the video, not for the words of the tweet,” Shahzad Iqbal wrote.

He further highlighted the role of Barrister Gohar, who represented Bushra Bibi in the same case, and pointed out that even she disagreed with Gul’s criticism. Iqbal emphasized that Shahzeb Khanzada had consistently supported Bushra Bibi, challenging false claims and exposing Khawar Manika’s lies.

Shahzad Iqbal also shared a tweet from journalist Khadija Siddiqui, which praised Shahzeb Khanzada’s efforts in defending Bushra Bibi. Siddiqui stated that Khanzada repeatedly raised his voice in court, took Khawar Manika to task, and exposed her false allegations.

Iqbal concluded by urging Shahbaz Gul to reconsider his opinion and approach, emphasizing the importance of presenting factual accounts rather than demanding opinions from others.

This exchange has sparked further discussion on social media about the handling of high-profile cases and the role of journalists in highlighting legal proceedings in Pakistan.
