POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) spokesperson Aslam Ghori has strongly criticized Pakistan’s support for former US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan at the UN Security Council, saying it not only insulted the sentiments of the Pakistani people but also contributed to ongoing Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
Speaking on the issue, Ghori highlighted that millions of Palestinians have endured oppression for decades, yet global and regional powers have failed to take effective action. He pointed out that the International Court of Justice has declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal, underlining that the attacks on innocent Palestinian civilians are neither justified nor acceptable.
Ghori condemned the continued assaults on Palestinian territories despite various peace agreements, stressing that such attacks further destabilize the region. He expressed regret that Pakistani rulers, instead of defending the long-standing position of the Muslim Ummah, succumbed to international pressure, hurting national sentiments.
“Our hearts beat with our oppressed Palestinian brothers,” Ghori said, emphasizing that the entire Ummah demands Muslim leaders support the oppressed and take a clear, courageous stand against aggressors.
