Boat Carrying Migrants, Including Pakistanis, Capsizes Off Morocco’s Coast; Pakistani Embassy Assisting Survivors
Islamabad – A tragic maritime accident has occurred off the coast of Morocco, where a boat carrying 80 passengers, including several Pakistanis, capsized. The boat had set sail from Mauritania in an attempt to illegally reach Spain. The incident occurred near the port of Dakhla, Morocco, and has left survivors stranded in a nearby camp.
The Pakistani Foreign Office has swiftly responded to the situation, confirming that a number of Pakistanis were onboard the ill-fated vessel. According to the statement, the Pakistani embassy in Rabat is in direct communication with Moroccan authorities and has dispatched a team to Dakhla to assist the affected Pakistanis.
The Crisis Management Unit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been activated to ensure all necessary support is provided. Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan has also issued instructions for full assistance to be extended to the survivors.
