Bolan Medical College in Quetta has been closed for two weeks following a violent clash between two student groups that left six students injured and led to the arrest of 128 individuals. The administration of the college made the decision to close the institution for the safety of the students, particularly those residing in the hostel.
The incident, which occurred on Brewery Road, saw students from both groups using sticks and engaging in physical altercations. The situation escalated quickly, prompting a response from the local police, who arrived at the scene and deployed teargas shells to disperse the angry students and restore order.
SSP Quetta, Muhammad Baloch, confirmed that the arrested students were taken into custody under the 3MPO (Maintenance of Public Order) Act. He also stated that an investigation into the matter was ongoing to determine the root cause of the clash and to ensure that appropriate actions were taken against those responsible for the violence.
The college administration emphasized the need for maintaining peace on campus and announced that classes and operations would remain suspended for the next two weeks to prevent further unrest.
