COAS Asim Munir Warns India Against

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Tuesday dismissed recent “hollow statements” by the Indian military, vowing a robust response to any misadventure against Pakistan. His remarks were made during the 267th Corps Commanders' Conference held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the high-level conference took serious note of recent provocative comments by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. Last month, Dwivedi claimed that "60 percent of the terrorists eliminated in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) in 2024 were of Pakistani origin," further alleging that "80 percent of the remaining fighters" were also linked to Pakistan.

In response, General Munir strongly rebuked the accusations, describing them as a desperate attempt to deflect attention from India's internal challenges and human rights violations in Kashmir.

Defending Sovereignty
“Pakistan Army remains fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. These hollow statements from the Indian military are indicative of their growing frustration and serve only to divert attention from their multiple internal fissures and blatant violations of human rights,” the COAS emphasized.

He assured that any misadventure by India would be met with "full and resolute force."

Solidarity with Kashmiri People
The conference participants expressed solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day. The forum condemned the "continued blatant human rights violations" in the region, recognizing them as a "grave threat to regional peace and stability."

The military brass reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination, as enshrined in UN Security Council resolutions.

Security Concerns and Balochistan Stability
The conference also reviewed the security landscape along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary. The use of Afghan soil by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for terrorist activities against Pakistan was another major concern.

The forum urged the Afghan interim government to take "concrete and tangible actions" against the TTP rather than issuing denials.

Recognizing the urgency of socio-economic development in Balochistan, the participants stressed the need to counter externally driven narratives of exclusion. They vowed to thwart any foreign-sponsored attempts to radicalize the youth in the province.

Operational Readiness and Tribute to Martyrs
General Munir commended the operational preparedness of the formations and emphasized the importance of mission-oriented training and joint military exercises.

The conference concluded with a profound tribute to the sacrifices made by the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians in their pursuit of peace and stability.

The military leadership reaffirmed its resolve to confront multifaceted challenges with the steadfast support of the people of Pakistan.
