Fazlur Rehman: Nation Will Unite if There's a Deal with India

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that if there is a deal with India, the entire Pakistani nation will stand united for the defense of the country.

Addressing a function in Islamabad, Maulana Fazl stated that any such move would galvanize national unity, adding, “Everyone has become a mujahid for the defense of the country.” His remarks hinted at the deeply rooted emotions tied to Pakistan’s foreign policy, especially with respect to India.

Fazlur Rehman also turned his attention to Pakistan’s strained relations with neighboring Afghanistan. He questioned the absence of progress on that front, asking, “Why have we not improved our relations with Afghanistan?”

The JUI-F chief stressed that no diplomatic success can be achieved unless there is consensus and coordination among political leadership. “Diplomatic success is not possible unless the political leadership is together,” he asserted, pointing to the need for unity within Pakistan's political landscape to enable constructive international engagement.

His comments come at a time when the region is witnessing dynamic shifts in diplomacy, trade, and security, especially in the context of Afghanistan’s internal situation and the longstanding tensions between Pakistan and India.

Fazlur Rehman’s statements may reflect broader calls from various quarters for a more united front within Pakistan to strengthen its international position and resolve regional challenges through dialogue and consensus.
