Joint Investigation Team Formed to Probe Dr. Warda Murder Case in Peshawar

Authorities have formed a 6-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the brutal murder of Dr. Warda, officials confirmed on Thursday. The team is tasked with submitting its findings within 5 days.

Composition of the JIT

The JIT includes:

·       Chairman Provincial Inspection Team Khayyam Hassan

·       DG Prosecution

·       AIG Sonia Shamroz

·       DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rashid

·       Representatives from CTD and Special Branch

The team has been instructed to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr. Warda’s abduction and murder, and identify all responsible parties.

Background of the Case

Dr. Warda was abducted on December 4 outside a hospital. Her body was discovered four days later in the Lai Banota area. According to police statements, Dr. Warda was killed within an hour of her kidnapping.

Authorities reported that the accused first took her to an under-construction house in Jinnahabad, where she was strangled to death. Her body was later buried near Thandiani.

DPO Haroon Rashid emphasized that the investigation is being handled with urgency, given the heinous nature of the crime and public concern over safety.

The formation of the JIT aims to expedite the investigation and ensure accountability for the perpetrators, providing justice for Dr. Warda and her family.
