The meeting, held at the Supreme Court, focused on restoring the prestige of the judiciary and improving Pakistan's standing in the ‘World Justice Index’.
According to a statement issued following the meeting, the session began with a welcoming address by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, after which the meeting’s agenda was reviewed. The meeting’s key goals were outlined as improving judicial transparency, delivering justice in a timely manner, and implementing necessary reforms. The reduction of case pendency was highlighted as one of the most critical areas for immediate attention. Efforts to streamline processes and clear backlog cases were prioritized.
One of the major announcements from the meeting was the launch of an ‘online feedback form’, designed to allow the public to provide suggestions regarding reforms in the Supreme Court. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to make the judiciary more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
The IT Directorate also presented an update on the progress of digital technology integration within the judiciary. The meeting underscored the urgency of completing the digital transformation of the judicial process to enhance both transparency and accessibility. The Supreme Court resolved to expedite the move towards a fully digital system to ensure the swift and accurate delivery of justice.
Additionally, a question-and-answer session was held, providing an opportunity for officers to share their suggestions and opinions on the proposed reforms.
