Karachi Police Introduce Mobile App for E-Challans to Curb Traffic Violations

After successfully implementing e-challans through Safe City cameras, the Karachi Police are now introducing a special mobile phone app to further enhance traffic law enforcement in the city.

According to police officials, the app has been developed for authorized police officers and will soon be rolled out on an experimental basis. Once downloaded onto the officers’ personal mobile phones, the app will allow them to capture photos of vehicles violating traffic rules during their duty hours.

The captured images will be automatically sent to the e-challaning officer of the Traffic Police, who will issue the corresponding e-challan. The system will also record the identity of the police officer who reported the violation, ensuring accountability and transparency.

Officials say this new initiative aims to strengthen traffic rule enforcement, reduce violations, and improve overall road safety in Karachi.
