Lahore High Court Restores PTI Founder Imran Khan’s May 9 Petition

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has restored the May 9 petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, which was earlier dismissed for non-compliance. The court has now directed that the main petition be fixed for hearing on November 25.

The case was discussed during a miscellaneous petition hearing before Chief Justice Alia Neelam. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sardar Latif Khosa, raised concerns that the Registrar’s Office had not included his name in the cause list.

Chief Justice Neelam responded critically, stating that no one seemed to know the issue regarding the court, adding that misinformation about court proceedings being circulated in the press was unacceptable. She emphasized that even if lawyers are absent due to strikes, one lawyer is sufficient for the court to proceed.

Latif Khosa clarified that the lawyers’ strike was in support of the respect of the court and not for personal reasons. The Chief Justice acknowledged this but reiterated the importance of court compliance.

Following the proceedings, the court restored Imran Khan’s petition and scheduled the main hearing for November 25, allowing the case to move forward.
