POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Senior lawyer Naeem Bukhari has issued a scathing critique of PTI founder Imran Khan, questioning his judgment, leadership choices, and involvement in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
In his latest remarks, Bukhari stated:
“If I were Imran Khan’s advisor, I would have never allowed him to even touch the land of the Al-Qadir Trust.”
He further questioned Khan’s reputation as a public servant and philanthropist, bluntly asserting:
“Imran Khan is not a philanthropist. How can he select someone like Fawad Chaudhry or appoint Babar Awan as an advisor?”
Bukhari’s criticism extended to matters of ethics and propriety regarding state-owned items:
“How can you keep a necklace that belongs to the state? Even if someone gifts you a ballpoint pen or a pencil, it is the property of the government.”
He also revealed that the former prime minister had grown increasingly superstitious during his time in power:
“The PTI founder had become superstitious — believing some days were not good.”
📌 Context:
Naeem Bukhari has long been seen as a close ally of PTI but has recently distanced himself from the party. His public criticism adds fuel to ongoing controversies surrounding the Al-Qadir Trust case, alleged misuse of Toshakhana gifts, and internal leadership decisions.
