Pakistan’s security forces successfully killed 22 foreign terrorists in an intelligence-based operation against the outlawed group Fitna al-Khawarij in Bannu, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday.
According to ISPR, the operation was launched after credible intelligence indicated the presence of foreign militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij in the region. During the operation, a heavy exchange of fire ensued between the security forces and the militants, resulting in the elimination of 22 foreign fighters.
The ISPR further stated that clearance operations are ongoing in the area to neutralize any remaining foreign elements. The military emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism and maintain stability in the region.
This operation highlights the continued vigilance of Pakistan’s armed forces against cross-border and foreign-backed terrorist activities, particularly in areas previously affected by militant infiltration.
