PTI Rejects Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Offer for Talks

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has firmly rejected the government’s offer for talks, describing it as a “duplicity” aimed at misleading the public.

PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram said the government’s approach reflects political panic and intellectual bankruptcy. He criticized the demand for an apology from PTI as a precondition, stating that such conditions undermine any genuine dialogue.

He suggested that the government could engage with PTI through senior party members, including Mehmood Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, but emphasized that the party would not participate in talks under the current terms.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended an invitation to PTI for talks during a federal cabinet meeting and previously on the assembly floor. The Prime Minister stated that dialogue could only proceed on legitimate demands, warning that attempts to blackmail under the guise of negotiations would not succeed.
