PTI’s Barrister Gohar Condemns Economist Article on Bushra Bibi, Plans Legal Action

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar has announced plans for legal action against the British magazine The Economist, denouncing its recent article on Bushra Bibi as a lie, incitement, and character assassination.

Speaking to Geo News, Barrister Gohar asserted that the publication is based on falsehoods aimed at maligning both Bushra Bibi and PTI founder Imran Khan. “Bushra Bibi is in jail for her bravery and being the wife of Imran Khan. The aim of this article is to character assassinate her and the founder of PTI,” he said.

He further referenced previous allegations, such as the Idtat case, which were proven false, stressing that this new report is similarly fabricated. “Bushra Bibi will not be broken by such tactics,” he added.

Barrister Gohar also condemned the timing of the article, noting that it was published while Imran Khan remains in jail. He suggested that such reports are sponsored and politically motivated, vowing that legal action will be taken to counter what he called “misrepresentation and baseless claims.”

The article in The Economist detailed Bushra Bibi’s alleged influence over Imran Khan’s personal life and political decisions. According to the report, her arrival in Bani Gala coincided with unusual rituals, including the throwing of raw animal heads into a cemetery, rolling raw meat around Imran Khan’s head, and burning red chillies — claims which have drawn strong criticism from PTI supporters.

Barrister Gohar’s announcement is the latest in a series of PTI responses challenging media reports about the party leadership and the role of Bushra Bibi in Imran Khan’s political and personal affairs.
