Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja met with Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Wednesday for detailed consultations on opposition strategy and parliamentary matters.
The meeting was also attended by Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Moin Qureshi and National Assembly Chief Whip Malik Aamir Dogar.
During the meeting, Salman Akram Raja congratulated Mahmood Khan Achakzai on his election as Opposition Leader and expressed his best wishes, emphasizing that strong and effective leadership of the opposition is crucial for the consolidation of parliamentary democracy. He stressed the importance of joint efforts among opposition parties to uphold democratic values.
According to sources, discussions focused on the current political situation in the country, the opposition’s role in parliament, legislative processes, and adopting a unified stance on public issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Khan Achakzai said the opposition’s primary aim is the supremacy of the constitution and the protection of citizens’ rights. He called for coordinated and constructive politics among opposition parties to address the country’s challenges. He thanked Salman Akram Raja and other leaders for their support, noting that only positive and collaborative political efforts can steer Pakistan out of its current difficulties.
