ISLAMABAD — The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Climate Data Processing Center has announced that the second solar eclipse of 2025 will occur on the night of September 21–22.

According to the schedule, the eclipse will begin on September 21 at 10:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST), reach its peak on September 22 at 12:42 AM PST, and conclude at 2:55 AM PST.

However, the eclipse will not be visible from Pakistan. Instead, it will be observable in select regions, including parts of the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Antarctica, and Australia.

Solar eclipses occur when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, partially or fully blocking sunlight. This particular event will be a partial solar eclipse, meaning the Sun will be only partially covered.

Astronomers and eclipse enthusiasts worldwide are closely monitoring the phenomenon, though experts have advised that proper eye protection must always be used when viewing solar eclipses to prevent permanent damage to eyesight.

For Pakistan, astronomy lovers will need to wait for future eclipses that fall within the country’s visibility range.
